Babysitter Contact Info

One of my employees, Aaron Schielke (who designs all the maps for NFT), also loves to babysit--he was a former swimming instructor for toddlers. He can be reached at aarons@notfortourists.com, just don't take him for any night that we want to go out!

Language Class for the Crisis Management Parents

Hi:

I've been thinking I'd like my Spanish to get better. Much better. Before my daughters completely outstrip me and make me feel like a tag along south of the border (or worse, planning clandestine meetings with boys before my very ears).

Rebecca said she'd supply space if I can find a teacher and organize.

I'm figuring just a class a week (in conjunction with some other taped media on my own time) for live practice with live people-- maybe something that parallels the ISB lesson plan. But when to do? My schedule is reasonably flexible, but all things considered would be easiest during aftercare so there is efficiency along with a reasonably priced and built in childcare system . The other option is an early evening class, with some arranged childcare support on site (the teacher/sitter tag team).

It shouldn't be too expensive. Less the more people. Slightly more for those, like me, with childcare needs. Can you let me know if you are interested and what might best suit? An hour class either at 3, 4, 5 or 7? I'm thinking Tuesday or Thursday, but list two preferences along with your interest. I can be swayed. Don't think I can reasonably organize before early January though. It's possible there could be both a late afternoon and an early evening class with the same teacher/sitter and enough interest.

Email me if you'd like to be involved and include a couple of options on what might work best for you. I'll try as best I can to make things work for everyone.

Thanks

Greetings, Y'all...

Welcome to the ISB parents blog. Lesley and I were chatting and thinking that there are so many cool parents with so many cool things going on (parties, art openings, etc.) that you'd want to tell fellow parents about it, but not bug everyone with annoying emails. So this is where you can post anything that you don't think is quite important enough for an email blast, but no less interesting, useful, or fun. Perhaps this will turn out to be a useful permanent resource (like www.brownstoner.com) where folks can post names and phone numbers of babysitters, movers, local services, etc. Who knows? But you can post whatever you want--until the blog starts to be filled with backbiting, recriminations, useless gossip, and other trash. That'll be when it gets really interesting.

cheers,
